SoundCheck is a Noise Level Indicator that helps you identify if the place you are in is too loud and indicates noise levels.

The Soundcheck can be left on your keyring and a noise level indication taken discretely without attracting attention.

The SoundCheck has employed in many different disciplines one of which is a number were sold to BBC TV Centre and 124Facilities Studio  at the Channel 4 building to enable the Studio Managers to take an indication reading of the audio PA level from the speakers in the audience area.   

Whilst the sound check is not sold as a full sound level calibrated measuring device it will provide subtle first level awareness of the sound at that moment of measurement to within current guidelines making itself a uesful little tool that does not attract too much attention and therefore less speculation on intent! 

A full sound noise meter can then be deployed to make more accuarate measurements if the need still arises.

• ACCURATE TO +/- 3dB
• 1000 samples based on 10" per sample time
• 2 Button cells supplied fitted.
• Pocket sized (supplied with a keyring)

Three indicator LED’s simply show you the noise level. Point the “SoundCheck” microphone opening at the noise source. Press the blue button and read the result from the LED’s that have come on

The noise levels are interpreted as follows:

• Green: Flickering = 55dB
• Green: On continuously = 60dB
• Yellow: Flickering = 75dB
• Yellow: On continuously = 80dB onset of 1st action level. Employer must advise an employee that they should use hearing protection.(85dB)
• Red: Pulsing slowly = 100db beyond 2nd action level (90bB). Employer must enforce the use of hearing protection
• Red: Pulsing rapidly = >100db (dangerous)
• Red: On continuously = >105db (very dangerous)

From April 2006 the Action levels will reduce to 83dB and 87dB respectively.
