An induction loop system allows audio to be “transmitted” to a listener by means of a magnetic field. It is wireless system but it is not a radio signal and will not work or will not pair with a Bluetooth device. It is a listen only device a separate microphone is required to return a conversation. (See TC4 headsets ). The user wears a neck loop (usually hidden under their clothing) and an induction loop earpiece. An audio signal is fed from the audio output of a walkie talkie radio, MP3, iPoD or wired system into the neck loop. The current flowing in the neck loop varies according to the audio signal producing a magnetic field. The earpiece contains a coil which converts the magnetic field back to audio and feeds it to a miniature sound amplifier.
